Have You Tried Meditation?
The world is on fire, your boss is a jerk, and your favorite shade of lipstick has been discontinued. It’s enough to send anyone over the edge. So, have you tried meditation?
This class, led by Marc Settembrino, PhD, is a lighthearted, beginner-friendly meditation workshop for people who are curious about meditation but aren’t sure how to begin, or think they are “bad” at it.
We’ll start with gentle movement, talk about why people meditate, explore comfortable sitting options, and try a few different meditation techniques. You don’t have to sit perfectly still, clear your mind, or do anything “correctly”; this is all for fun. Come experiment, find your favorite seat and a new technique, and maybe become slightly less inclined to lose your mind.

Slay - Get Spooky with QNS
Okay Northshore queers, spooky season said serve and we plan to do just that.
QNS is taking over Spirits Bar at The Escape Warehouse in Ponchatoula on October 17 for a night of drag, karaoke, costumes, and enough queer Halloween energy to wake the dead.
Tuffy Love is hosting, with Lana O’Day, Thorne Hart, and Roxie C. Black all hitting the stage. So come prepared for looks, performances, and plenty of opportunities to scream SLAY! at unreasonable volumes.
There will also be karaoke and a costume contest, because spooky season is no time to be subtle.
Dress scary. Dress sexy. Dress weird. Dress like you’ve been waiting for this all year (we sure have!),

Planned by queer youth for their community, this newest QNS event will be a fun way for high school & college aged youth to hang out, play board games, and paint together! As with all QNS events, allies are so welcome to join in the fun! Anyone who is not old enough to drive themselves needs a parent or guardian to stay during the event.
