Come drink with your QNS buddies at the Barley Oak! We meet by the picnic tables under the bar.
This event is wheelchair friendly and dog friendly but not kid friendly unfortunately.
I believe this event would be accessible for many neurodivergent people. It can get kind of loud with people talking but there isn't any music playing. You can park on the street or behind the bar. There's usually plenty of spots. As always, feel free to bring noise cancelling headphones or fidgets and if you have any questions about event logistics or etiquette please message info@queernorthshore.org.

In 2023, the Krewe of Queer Northshore made history as the first LGBTQ+ krewe to march in St. Tammany. The theme for the Push-Mow Parade in 2023 was “Terrible Ideas for a New Fast Food,” and “Hubig’s Nutria Pies” was our entry. Check out the pics here. The 2024 theme is “Bizarre Broadway,” and our entry will be “Queer Little Shop of Horrors.”

Being in the LGBTQ+ community can be amazing, but it can also be scary, confusing, or even something you are forced to hide. One way we can help one another is simply by being there in times of joy and when someone needs extra support.
Starting in November, we will have the opportunity to lift each other up with our first LGBTQ+ Peer Support Group meeting. We are going to meet twice a month to begin with; if leadership is available and if there is interest, we may also explore expanding into more specific peer support groups (trans support, LGBTQ youth support, LGBTQ parent support, etc).
Join us for the Queer Northshore Holiday Hoedown Party hosted by QNS Member Sharessa Garland and her family on their family farm (including Emus, Scottish Highland Cows, Llamas and more)!
