Queer Northshore is entering a new chapter rooted in sustainability, shared leadership, and long-term community care under the leadership of our new Executive Director, Leyla Hekmatdoost.

Regarding concerns about the inclusion of certain flags in this year’s Pride parade—specifically the Palestinian, Mexican, and upside-down American flags, we feel it is important to explain our values clearly.

St. Tammany Parish, LA, May 8, 2024 – Nonprofit Queer Northshore announces the 1st annual PRIDE Northshore celebration, promoting LGBTQ+ visibility, community and acceptance in Louisiana’s Northshore region at a time when our community needs it most.

This week, Queer Northshore and the St Tammany Library Alliance (STLA) were informed that none of St Tammany’s twelve library branches have put up Pride Month displays out of fear of retribution from anti-LGBTQ+ groups as well as possible blowback from the Parish Council.
