Queer Northshore’s 2nd Annual PRIDE Celebration Will be a Protest

St. Tammany Parish, LA, May 19, 2025 – Nonprofit Queer Northshore announces the 2nd annual PRIDE Northshore celebration, promoting LGBTQ+ visibility, community and acceptance across Louisiana’s Northshore.

While Pride is a celebration, it has always been an act of resistance. This year, as LGBTQ+ rights face relentless attacks from those in power in our state and country, our theme—“Protesting with PRIDE”—honors the bold legacy of the 1969 Stonewall Riots, which sparked the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement. In that spirit, we gather not only to celebrate—but to demand change. We march not just for joy, but for justice. We rally not just for visibility, but for liberation. We will not be silent. Walk with us. Stand with us. Celebrate with us as we Protest with PRIDE. Learn more about PRIDE Northshore.

This year, Pride Northshore is more than a celebration—it’s an act of resistance. As forces across our state and country work to dismantle diversity, equity, and inclusion, we are rising louder, prouder, and more united than ever. We honor our shared struggles and declare, with every step we take, that we exist, we resist, and we will not be erased.
